Dude,

I knew for some time the Beachfront was for sale, but now I think it will be built on soon as they marked out lines half way across the Beach at the north end the other day. They will leave the federal minimum (Maybe) , and remove all the trees, so that means then the Beach will disappear without the trees roots holding all the sand together.

So another beach will be reduced in size. Sad.

I had a great few runs today while the wind was up for only minutes. Turns and wave-jumping/(surviving) getting better.

Mongolian madness and the Gobi desert!

Hi all..
well after several months of being unplugged we are now in Kazakhstan where we have better Internet access where we can at long last do some further updates on the website.

Mongolia.......we could use every descriptive in our arsenal about this country and still it wouldn't come close. It has a raw barren beauty which at times was overwhelming, and where everyday our riding skills were put to the test but where we were constantly rewarded.
we rode from the grassy plains north of Mongolian capital and to the soft testing sand of the Gobi desert to having snow and ice on the roads when we headed West over the mountains towards Russia.
we had more falls and spills in our weeks of traveling in Mongolia than we have in years! Simon's total exceeded mine for once.....not that Im happy that he 'kept' falling off as it meant that I had to keep helping him lift his bike. and/or unload..a good workout on its own without trying to do it in sand!

We had to have a laugh during our time in Mongolia as the words of a fairly 'novice' traveler kept coming back to us when we were tiptoeing our 320kg bikes over goat tracks and in between large boulders which was the 'main' route...this guy said, when he proudly puffed up his chest and made sure to impress when we met him,......"ah well...we didn't do the main route. we decided to take the off-road route". Now those of you who have been to Mongolia will know that ALL of Mongolia is basically off road and even the off road gets really off road! Note of caution for those contemplating a trip in Mongolia...the red lines on the maps don't mean a thing ....just a wish list of roads they would like to be tarmac! only a few miles have tarmac on them when they leave the city of Ulan Bataar. take a look at the photos and you'll see what we mean. some of the toughest riding we have done since the Sahara and Amazon.

Oh - I have also had it re-confirmed that I DO like sand riding! It has been a long while since we have had the opportunity and WOW what fun it is to have the bike swirling around underneath you as you struggle for control only to think "I'm off!!"....to then surprisingly recover and continue only to fall off when you stationary! I put that down to the bike being tired :-)

so we are now pushing it for time as Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan has many passes well over the 4000m (for those if you in the USA...thats 13,000 + feet) and these will be filling with snow as we speak. Some of the passes close due to the amount of snow as early as mid Oct. Had it been possible we would like to have been traveling through this area around a month earlier.

So the plan is Kyrgyzstan - Tajikistan and then Uzbekistan...after that we are unsure- we are hoping Turkmenistan and Iran. I was so happy to have been given our authorization code from the Iran embassy ($50 each just to get this!) in order to be able to apply for our visa ( another bundle of $$) ....but then I hear on the news the 'West' is none too happy. Fingers crossed we get our visa as we hear that Iran is a most beautiful country to visit.

For you UK bikers....we were lucky enough recently to meet up with Tiffany www.tiffnaytravels.com and her pillion Annie from the UK when we were all in Ulan Bataar- we last saw her in the UK just before we left 7 years ago! Its a small World.

Our other friends Rik and Rob whom we met in the USA have just finished their trip after just over 3 years on the road and are now back home in the UK. www.thebigbiketrip.com

El Hotel Playa Azul Tulum y Morph Kiteboarding abren una nueva escuela de Kiteboarding en el Hotel Playa Azul Tulum, con profesores certificados IKO y con unos equipamientos y seguridad de gran nivel. El día 1 de noviembre será la inaguración, bienvenidos a practicar este deporte !!

El kitesurf es uno de los deportes extremos, que más adeptos ha ido sumando. El deporte es prácticamente nuevo. Se cree que surgió en los comienzos de la década de los 80. Pero el kitesurf, no logro que muchos se interesaran en el. Pero en la mediada que se fue dando a conocer, muchos surfistas, fueron incorporando éste deporte, a sus prácticas habituales. Para comienzos del 2000, la cantidad de practicantes, había superado todas las expectativas.

Para practicar el kitesurf, se necesita de una cometa, la cual varía de tamaño, según la potencia de arrastre, que se desee tener. Esta se asegura a la cintura de la persona, por medio de una barra de control, unida por un arnés. Para deslizarse, se necesita de una tabla de surf. La cual, en la mayoría de las ocasiones, es bastante más pequeña, que la original. Esto, para poder tener un rango de maniobrabilidad, mucho mayor al acostumbrado.

El kitesurf al poseer como vehículo de arrastre, una cometa, debe ser practicado en zonas donde el viento sea recurrente. Aparte de que corra a altas velocidades. Para principiantes, se recomienda comenzar a aprender,con un instructor o escuela certificada, Esto, ya que sin la asistencia adecuada, se puede tornar peligroso.

Por otra parte, el kitesurf ha dado pie para que otras modalidades, copien su vehículo de propulsión. Esto se está dando bastante con el snowboard. Muchos montañistas, están incorporando un cometa, para lograr mayores velocidades en la nieve y así poder lograr acrobacias más extremas. Lo mismo ocurre con los que practican el mountain boards. Deporte que se realiza en las montañas, en época de verano. Quienes utilizan una tabla un poco mayor que la de un skate convencional, a la que le han incorporado grandes ruedas de caucho, para poder deslizarse en la veredas rocosas de los cerros. Y las cometas utilizadas en el kitesurf les proporcionan gran velocidad y mayor diversión.

Iniciación:
Para empezar con este deporte los expertos recomiendan hacer un curso de iniciación donde enseñan un primer contacto con el material y, ya que se trata de un deporte de riesgo, es necesario al menos unas normas básicas de seguridad y procedimientos de rescate que permitirán resolver situaciones de rotura de material, caída de la cometa, etc. Este deporte en manos inexpertas puede ser peligroso, pero bien practicado es un deporte muy emocionante que desborda adrenalina.

En un curso de iniciación, normalmente hay una parte teórica de seguridad, ventana de vuelo, etc. y otra parte práctica, que comienza en la arena con una cometa de iniciación, donde se toma contacto con la fuerza de la cometa en las distintas posiciones de la ventana de vuelo y su comportamiento en función de la velocidad. Procedimiento para subir y bajar y suelta de la cometa. Se pasa posteriormente al agua y se practica el “bodydrag”, desplazamiento en el agua sin la tabla, esta técnica permite recuperar la tabla en el agua, después se practica el “waterstart” o salida con la tabla desde el agua.

Seguridad :
No se recomienda la práctica del kite con viento de tierra off-shore (el viento te aleja de la playa).
El equipo básico contiene distintos elementos de seguridad. El tándem cometa-barra es el que más elementos contiene. En caso de que sople un viento demasiado fuerte con el que la cometa se pueda descontrolar y nos pueda arrastrar, la unión al arnés llamada chickenloop tiene una anilla de seguridad que permite soltar la cometa del cuerpo. Es sólo entonces cuando actúa el leash o cuerda de seguridad, que evita que la cometa se aleje y se extravíe.

A través de la barra pasan unas líneas, dando un margen para que la barra pueda pegarse más al cuerpo o alejarse, esta acción influye ligeramente en la cometa haciéndola más o menos sensible al viento (captando más o menos viento), es por sí una medida de seguridad, ya que se puede regular la cometa cuando vienen rachas fuertes de viento. Las cometas de dos líneas no tienen este sistema, hoy en día imprescindible (por eso están en desuso).

Por último está la constitución de la cometa, que varía entre marcas y modelos y su diseño puede aportar elementos de seguridad.
En este deporte, se está innovando en seguridad, diseño y prestaciones y dado su corta vida, cada año se introducen nuevos elementos.

Comienzos:
Aunque la práctica de este deporte de manera extendida es muy reciente, se tiene conocimiento que desde muy antiguo en China e Indonesia se usaban cometas para arrastrar pequeñas embarcaciones. No es sin embargo hasta 1977 cuando Gijsbertus Adrianus Panhuise patenta un sistema de navegación sobre una tabla de surf traccionada por una especie de paracaídas, convirtiéndose así en el padre de este deporte. En Indonesia es una cultura y un arte, los diseños son amplios y variados, en estas zonas es dónde se encuentra la industria de kiteboarding. También es un gran lugar para entrenar y desarrollar el material, esto junto a la mano de obra barata y el desarrollo industrial de esta zona la sitúa como pionera en cuanto al desarrollo del Kiteboarding. www.playaazultulum.com , www.morphkiteboarding.com

Playa Azul Tulum Hotel and Morph Kiteboarding are opening a new Kiteboarding school in the Playa Azul Tulum Hotel, with IKO certified teachers and new equipment that’s safe to use. November 1, 2009 will be the grand opening – everyone is welcome to come try out this new sport!

Kitesurfing is an extreme sport, with a growing number of followers. The sport is a pretty new thing. It’s thought that it first burst onto the scene in the 80s, but not too many people were into it at first. Since then, as more people have known about it, many surfers started kiteboarding. Since 2000, the amount of kiteboarders has surpassed all expectations.

To get started kitesurfing, you would need a kite – the size varies according to the amount of drag you want to have. You attach the kite to a belt, for more control, that’s attached to a harness. Then you need a kind of small surfboard. It’s much easier to get used to, and you have a much bigger range of motion.

Once you have your equipment, you need a place to practice that has recurring winds. Then you can surf with the wind at high speeds! But for beginners, we recommend that you start to learn with an instructor at a certified school. If you don’t, it can get dangerous!

Kitesurfing has also given rise to other types of sport, based on the kite equipment. You can see this with some types of snowboarding. Lots of snowboarders have incorporated the use of a kite, to get even higher speeds over the snow and that way they can do some pretty extreme acrobatics. The same thing happens with those you use mountain boards. They use these in the mountains in the summer. It uses a board a little bit bigger than a skateboard, with rubber wheels, to speed along the rocky paths of the hills. Kites give them much more speed, and more fun!

To sart:

To begin this sport, the experts recommend that one takes a beginner’s course, where you learn about the equipment and how to handle a high risk sport. It’s necessary to observe some basic principles of safety, and rescue procedures, so that you can handle yourself should a situation arise, like the equipment breaking, the kite falling, etc. This sport, in inexperienced hands, can be dangerous, but if you put some time into practicing, it’s a really exciting sport that gives you a huge adrenaline rush.

In a beginner’s course, normally there’s a section about safely, how the wind works, etc., and the other part is hands-on practice. That starts in the sand with a trainer kite, where you first come into contact with the power of the kite and the different ways the wind hits you, and how to handle the wind speed. Your instructor will show you how to get the kite up in the air, get it down, and release it. Then you get into the water and practice the “bodydrag,” getting used to the feel of being in the water without the board first, and this will help you to get on the board should you lose it in the water. Then you can start practicing a “waterstart” and getting out of the water with the board.

Safety

We don’t recommend practicing kiteboarding with off-shore wind (the wind that moves you away from the beach). The basic equipment has different safety features. The kite-bar has a lot of these features. If there’s too strong of a gust of wind, to the point where you can’t control the kite and it drags you, the part of the harness called the “chickenloop” has a safely ring that releases the kite from your body. This lets the leash, or security rope, go, so that you wouldn’t release and lose your kite.

There are lines that pass through the bar, giving you some leeway, so that the bar either stays close to your body or farther away, which gives you a light touch with the kite, according to how the wind is blowing (capturing more or less of the wind), which is of course a measure of safety. You have to be able to regulate the kite when big gusts of wind come up. Kites with two lines don’t have this system, which is really essential (which is why they’re not used anymore).

And last, there’s how the kite is made, which varies among brands and models, and its design can bring with it many different safety elements.

In this sport, there are always new safety inventions, designs, and performance features, and every year new things are introduced.

Kitesurfing’s beginnings

Even though the practice of this sport is rather recent, it has been known for a long time in China and Indonesia, where they used kites to pull along small boats. Even knowing that, it wasn’t until 1977 that Gijsbertus Adrianus Panhuise patented a navigation system on a surfboard, for a type of parasailing, becoming the father of kitesurfing. In Indonesia it’s part of the culture, and an art, the designs are many and varied, and in these places you can find the kiteboarding industry. It’s also a great place to train, and develop better equipment. It’s history, together with low overhead and the reputation of the area as the place where kiteboarding was pioneered, has contributed greatly to the great sport of kiteboarding.

Aunque el deporte del kitesurf es muy reciente, la idea de utilizar las cometas como medio de propulsión no es nueva. Durante el siglo XII, XIII y XIV varias comunidades de pescadores y marineros de indonesia, polinesia y china utilizaba las cometas para arrastrar sus embarcaciones.

A principios de siglo XIX, el inventor británico George Pocock patentó un sistema de tracción con cometas para carros y embarcaciones. Realizó varias pruebas y batió varios records. Sus barcos podían navegar en rumbos a menos de 90 grados contra la dirección del viento.

En noviembre de 1903, el inventor americano Samuel Cody atravesó en Canal de la Mancha navegando con cometas.

En 1970, el inglés Peter Powel inventó la cometa de 2 líneas, y construyo una cometa en forma de delta con la que navegó en pequeños botes.

En octubre de 1977, el inventor de los Países Bajos Gijsbertus Adrianus Panhuiseconsigue la primera patente para nuestro deporte. La patente describía un deporte en el cual se navegaba utilizando una tabla de surf traccionada por una especie de"paracaidas" al que está unido por un arnés. Aunque esta patente no se explotó comercialmente, Gijsbertus Adrianus Panhuise se podría considerar como el primer kitesurfista.

En 1978, el estadounidense Dave Culp diseñó el la primera cometa con el borde de ataque inchable. A principios de los años 80, Arnaud de Rosnay (Francia), durante una de sus travesías del canal, utilizó una tabla y una cometa en vez de una vela de windsurf. En la misma época, Andreas Kuhn (Suiza), realizó pruebas con un híbrido entre el esquí y el parapente.

En 1985 los hermanos Dominique y de Bruno Legaignoux (Francia) hicieron una demostración de navegación sobre esquís traccionados por cometas en la Brest International Speed Week. En 1987 consiguen la patente de la primera cometa que puede despegar desde el agua. En el mismo período, Cory Roeseler (los E.E.U.U.) es el primer navegante en conseguir rumbos contra el viento en esta nueva era de la navegación con cometas.

Uno de los hermanos Legaignoux en la

Brest International Speed Week de 1985.

El reconocimiento definitivo de este deporte se dió cuando
windsurfistas de renombre internacional pasaron a
practicar el kitesurf como diversión. Entre ellos, el que
más destacó fué Robby Naish.
En 1996, en el catálogo de la marca de ropa Oxbow
aparecía Laird Hamiltonpracticando un extraño
deporte, mezcla de surf, windsurf y buggy: el kitesurf.
Su labor conjuntamente con la de otros ya famosos
deportistas como Manu Bertin hace que los
aficionados a los deportes acuáticos conozcan el kitesurf.
A Naish le gustó tanto el kitesurfing que, además de
ser uno de sus principales divulgadores, también
pasó a ser uno de los más importantes fabricantes
de material de kitesurf. En 1998 llega a un acuerdo
con los hermanos Legaignoux para fabricar cometas
con su licencia.

Hago un resumen para que se lea todo en un post .........
CV
43 años , 75 kgs , navego desde finales del 2004 ( o mejor dicho unas 350 o algo así sesiones ) , mis tablas son ( las 2 Nobile Shinn del 2008 ) en 134 x 42 y la Wave
Bolsa : simple pero cumple su función , a mi personalmente no me gustaban de nada las que traían mis Edges porque tenían 5 cinchas en total .... cuestión de gustos así que ...
Barra : nada que decir salvo que la cincha del depower funciona muy bien , el quita vueltas va de fábula y más adelante ya comentaré como aguanta .
Cometa : lo mismo .... en 30 sesiones ya iré contando
Bueno ...
20 nudos .... con extensiones .
La cometa tira un huevo , es una 5 con la potencia de una 7 sobrada , el giro cada día me gusta más , en vientos así ideal para ir con mi mutante y disfrutar , el relanzamiento puede ser algo técnico y no le gusta que tiren de la barra todo hasta abajo porque no se levanta , mejor dejar un poco de juego y con tranquilidad .
25 Nudos y 23 metros de lineas .
La cometa me gusta mucho más así , es más reactiva , gira más rápido y es en general más manejable . con estos vientos va uno plenamente potenciado y se puede saltar sin problemas , el lift ( tirón ) es muy bueno , el hangtime ( sustentación ) igual que una 7 . el relanzamiento me funciono sin problemas ...
30 Nudos ( 23 m de l ineas )
Aquí en donde para mi comienza el disfrutar , salta un huevo ( igual que mis Edges ) en fin una pasada, el freno a 1/3 así que yo diría que 35 son posibles siempre y cuando ........
Uno no quiera navegar en situaciones extremas como la que he vivido hoy en Valdevaqueros con vientos desde los 20 hasta los casi 40 y anortados ... la cometa como era de esperar reacciona demasiado sensible a rachas extremas porque genera un empuje cuando esta pasada igual a la de un tractor y se vuelve muy técnica para llevarla , habían unas cuantas 7 metros ( Bandits II bueno esa era del 8 ) y warros , Rebels etc y se veían que iban también puteadas a ratos pero la Ovando en un par de ocasiones me pego un par de sustos porque me toco meter literalmente el culo en el agua para no salir disparado .
Así que .... como yo no tengo pelos en la lengua y no vendo estas cometas , doy mi opinión como es .
Me encanta la cometa desde por debajo de los 20 nudos con mi mutante para pillar olas , a partir de los 20 y pico ya me puedo meter con mi tt a darle caña y siempre y cuando el viento no sea guarro 30 y algunos más nudos aguanta sin problemas en absoluto .
Para vientos tipo Valdevaqueros guarros mejor otra cometa y no devemos de olvidar que EH siempre ha insistido en que estas cometas NO fueron diseñadas para vientos fuera de su rango ( que en este caso es de unos 30 nudos para un rider de mi peso ) y aunque la he volado llegando a los 32 - 33 nudos sin problemas , vientos fuertes y racheados no son su especialidad .
El Lunes me llega la 9 metros y ya iré contando como va .

Yesterday we had a Fantastic meeting!

not only because there was 3 old friends getting back together,

but because, Kiteboarding in México is Changing a lot! , also is growing with out control.

this is the main reason that we decide to get together, in this 1st meeting, there will be more...

to establish standards, rules, all this together with the experience that JOAN de CLERQ, MARCO CRISTOFANELLI and DAVID FURCHTGOTT, can bring to the sport.

we will be getting together, and work with the government, and the Hotel Association of Tulum, so there is a regulation in all Tulum Coast, in all the hotels, so all the Kiteboarders visiting our area, can practice the sport, safely, responsible, and most important, without jeopardizing the future of this amazing hobbie!

This turned out to be an awesome day!
it started in the morning with the magic friends, the fish, the beach ,
just to finish up in a great sesh with the boyz... and Jenna....

Diego, was happier then anybody else , finally he got to try his ovando 9,
while everybody else, was enjoying on 12´s...
Una sesión desde las 4pm, hasta las 8 30 pm,
buen viento!!! Finally.... que no habíamos tenido en un par de semanas.

Dylan, I guess he will not be ble to sleep for the adrenaline, he is kiting good!!!!

Dude,

Had a great afternoon. Took the 15.5 out in maybe 12 Knots.
I got upwind, no big problems, even dragging one hand in the Sea! It felt FANTASTIC ;-)
Sometimes lost control and got too fast/overpowered, but edged really hard and kept kite low.

Ovando 9m Update ( no de diego ...todavía)

Well .... if you wanna read my CV and about the bits & pieces from the kite ( bag , bar etc ) read my review about the 5m Ovando ...

One change.... the bar is 5 cm bigger than the one that came with the 5m
My today´s setup ..... My Shinn board 42 , 9m OV ( 23 + extensions )

Anyway .... today was a kinda light wind day n Tarifa , received the kite 2 days ago so I thought I just hit the beach and try it out ....

At this point I can tell you for sure that in those conditions I would pump my 13m Edge right away ...

Check it out ( was kiting from 16,30 till 18.00 )

When I arrived at the beach, the wind was ....

11 knots !!!!! with 16 knots gusts !!!!

Most of the kites on the water were 11 m Warrro 09 , 12 m Switsblade ( or whatever the name is ) , 12 m Rebel 09 and so on and so on .... a few 9m out there but one with a surfboard and a few woman´s ( I guess around the 45/50 kg mark )

I was AMAZED that I was fully lit , most of the time during my 1 1/2 hr session I had the kite on park modus , sure I was not able to jump rather than some 1 meter ( wannabe ) jumps but I had a fantastic light wind session with a 9 m on not more than 12-13 KNOTS ...

Amazing !!!!!! it is like a dream come true .... have NO IDEA how long I have been dreaming about to be able to kite in such winds with an 9m .... actually I was doing better than most kites out there !!! and I have no idea the reason , but this kite ( as well as the 5m ) point up wind like no other .... started to follow some folks on their kites to compare how well I was doing and in probably 100 meter I was able to overtake them going upwind like 20+ meters ??? with a 9 !!!!

Again ..... this kite needs some experienced hands .... it does not like to get over sheeted , when you make a hard turn you need to release the bar a bit otherwise it could overload itself , on 27 meter lines it´s a bit slower than a regular 9m 8 but then again it has a far better lowwww end ) .

I did not crashed the kite since the beach was still full ( most newbies ) and need to wait till Sept. 15 until we finally get our beaches back AND all these tourists are GONEEEE .

ON the weekend we ( hope ) are getting some nuclear Levante so we should get some decent 20 ish knots in my local spot here in Sotogrande .

PKRA News:

Freestyle Mexico Event Canceled and Brazil Dates Moved

Due to the extremely difficult situation with the worlds economic, the PKRA Freestyle Mexico Event has being canceled. The organizers were not able to get the necessary support to bring the event forward.

However the good news is the Brazil Freestyle event is still in place, although the dates have being moved, to November 11 - 15th (formerly Mexico's dates) and the exact location will be determined between Piaui, and Ceara, on September 12th.

Brazil has already confirmed the 2010 PKRA racing and freestyle events will be held together in Barra Do Cunhau-RN, Brazil; The amazing location of the 2009 PKRA Kiteracing Brazil event, which took place two weeks ago. The local Government has expressed their commitment to host a bigger better event and have signed up for 2010. The exact dates will be publish on the 2010 Calendar, but September sounds likely.

Para mis amigos y familiares y aquellos que han tratado de contactarme sin éxito, que sepan que no es porque me he ausentado ni porque no he querido contestarles pero les tengo que contar que……Se me ahogo en un accidente desafortunado mi estimado y querido *BB*.
En un acto desafortunado e inconsciente metí mis shorts del gym en la lavadora sin percatarme que lo tenía en el bolsillo……
Cuando me di cuenta, era ya muy tarde, corrí a la lavadora la cual hacia mucho ruido como siempre al dar vueltas. Con mucha angustia interrumpí su ciclo, metí la mano, encontré los shorts, pero no a *BB*.
Entonces introduje el brazo completo para ver si podía salvar a *BB* dentro de todo lo que había allí adentro, además que los podían estrangular. Finalmente lo encontré todo mojado, enjabonado y ahogado. Lo saque, le quite el jabón con agua limpia , estaba con la luz roja como si estuviera diciéndome *hasta aquí llegue* . tiene dos días al sol para ver si revive pero nada….tengo esperanzas, asi que , le cuento esto para que entienda por lo que estoy pasando en estos momentos …. perdí a mi querido *BB*. Ahora si no que se hacer, estoy desubicado y confundido sin el.

Intentionally I’ve not been keeping a daily diary of our time in Mexico, which is a shame in some ways, as when we rode North from Central America, I’d made a similar decision, it has nothing to do with Mexico, just simply that I wanted a break from writing. That said I’m still keen to keep a written memory of our time here, with special thanks to the friends we’ve made here who have made this time extremely special.

Life fell into a pretty cool rhythm for us pretty quickly. We’d found a great pitch for the tent under a canopy of Palms and had even managed to get ourselves some privacy with the use of a couple of the tarpaulins hung between the stouter trees. Like two years prior, we’d found Juan, a local hammock maker and seller and had bought a beautiful double sized hammock. Stretched out close to the tent, it was perfect for an afternoon siesta.

How to Self Land a kite

we DO NOT ENCOURAGE SELF LANDING

in my opinion is dangerous, if you don´t have the knowledge or experience,

but in the real life, I know sometimes we need to do it,

so in order to do this safe, here is a little instructional courtesy of EH

in how to self land a kite..

remember 90% of accidents occur while landing or launching your kite.

While at CA Boom V, the Jonathan Ferrara Gallery had a booth with a mesmerizing series of Butterfly Installations by Paul Villinski. Apparently he is quite the recontextualist of found objects… transforming found gloves into dresses and comforters, wheelchairs and radio flyers into planes, and my favorite - beer cans into butterflies which when installed appear to be flying and fluttering with every breeze. Villinski’s site describes this collection: “These pieces explore themes of transformation and recovery through the metamorphosis of crushed beer cans from the streets of New York into flocks of realistically crafted butterflies.” See close ups of the CA Boom installation and others after the jump!

Got a 5m today and went strait to the beach to try it out . the forecast was kinda shitty but I thought it was the best way to test the bottom end .
CV
43 old , 75 kg kiter since late 2004 or better said , around 350 or so sessions , old school , love to jump ( the higher the better ) my boards are ( both Shinn 08 ) 134 x 42 & Wave .
My last quiver was a full set ( 7 till 13 ) of 07 modified Ozone Edges and I am planning to replace them with a 5 / 9 combo .
